Milestones is a timeline and record of the history and influence of LGBTQ artists upon the world at large. It is a simple yet powerful list testifying to our existence. A few literary figures, composers, dancers and events are interspersed for continuity along with visual artists. If you know of artists who should be added to this list please contact us.



The Leslie-Lohman Museum is a valuable resource for research on LGBTQ artists and is available for onsite research. We maintain over 85 linear feet of over 1,900 artist files, a library of over 1,800 professionally catalogued books on LGBTQ art and artists, and a vast collection of physique maga zines, monographs, rare publications, and related ephemera. The Collections data base has over 10,000 object records with images.
