You can help us...

The Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation (LLGAF) is a non-profit tax-exempt organization that is entirely funded by you. We receive no government monies. Therefore, we rely heavily upon the generosity of you, our supporters.

You can help us in many ways...

  • The first way you can help us is by becoming a member. The major benefit of becoming a member is that you will receive a 15% discount on any art you buy through the foundation. You will also receive our newsletter. Please see our Membership Form by clicking on this link to preview the many levels of membership and their benefits. (Membership is not a requirement to show art at the foundation's gallery.)
  • You can donate money toward the purchase of archival material, portfolios, photographing the collection, etc. Archival material for the storage and protection of art and restoration are expensive projects.
  • You can donate books for our small but expanding library, or donate money to the library fund for purchase of pertinent books.
  • Sponsor an exhibit. Check our schedule of upcoming shows to see if there is something you are particurlary interested in supporting. If you do not see anything you are able to support -- make a suggestion.
  • Volunteer a few hours a week in the gallery or archive. Call 212-673-7007 to talk to someone about volunteering your time or email us now.
  • Donate art to the foundation's permanent collection. Remember you can leave art or money to LLGAF now or in your will or trust. These donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
  • Share information. We are constantly looking for gay artists and art. Frequently we only know an artists name and do not know their background or the whereabouts of their art. We need to know this information because it establishes our existence, vitality and validity as important contributors to the world view of art.
  • If you are a GLBTQ artist contact us immediately. (We also show straight artists but the work must be pertinent to our purview.)

We invite you to become involved now in helping us grow into the museum we deserve to become, thereby, creating a safe haven where gay and lesbian erotic art can be viewed with the respect it deserves.

If you get involved now rather than later you will help open the doors to a more positive acceptance and create a place where we can all be proud to call home.

Thank you,

Wayne Snellen, Director
