Richard Taddei Born 1946
American, painter

Richard Taddei, a native New Yorker, was born in 1946. Mr. Taddei formally studied art at the Pratt Institute and he has been practicing art in general since grade school. He says that his greatest influences have been epic figure painting in the Renaissance and more recently Edward Melcarth, Social Realist, who influenced and encouraged him. His most admired artists today are Eric Fischl, Balthus and Sandro Chia. Mr. Taddei has appeared in various shows and galleries, such as, Bettal Gallery, Hal Bromm Gallery, Robert Samuel Gallery , and the Tower Gallery, South Hampton . A most versatile artist, Mr. Taddei has also painted murals at Tavern On The Green and the Hotel Pierre, in addition to murals and scenic backdrops for galas at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. He also designs scarves and china for Tiffany & Co. Mr. Taddei continues to live and work in New York City .
